Technology has made this research easier, says Suzanne Rudzinski, deputy director for science and technology in the Office of Water at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. “Analytical methods have gotten better and we are able to detect lower levels than ever before.”

Get Rid of Iron in Your Home
The Eagle Industries Corp. 2510 AIO Chemical Free Iron Filter is intended to be an effective and economical way to remove iron from water without the use of messy and dangerous chemicals or expensive pumps or an external venturi. The 2510 AIO valve uses a patented construction to create an air bubble at the upper portion of the tank to oxidize any ferrous iron prior to being filtered by the media. It can also be used to remove low concentrations of dissolved hydrogen sulfide and manganese from water.
How does the 2510 AIO filter work?
This filter works by adding oxygen to the incoming water by passing it through a bubble of compressed air. The water is then passed through a special filter bed. The special media not only increases the pH of the water to enhance iron removal but also acts as a physical barrier to trap iron precipitate. As more water passes through this iron filter, the oxygen in the unit is used up, and the media gets loaded with iron.
